Project Overview

This project involved the construction of 5 new concrete bridges and approaches plus the upgrade of a section of Beechmont Road near Canungra.

The locations of the five bridges are;

1. Sharp Bridge, Beechmont Road - Ch 3250;
2. Botan Creek Bridge, Beechmont Road - Ch 5460;
3. Back Creek Bridge, Beechmont Road - Ch 14970;
4. Bennett Bridge, Illinbah Road - Ch 680;
5. Jerome Bridge, Upper Coomera Road - Ch. 3960.
   

With the section of Beechmont Road adjoining the approach works to Sharp Bridge.

 Project Characteristics

This contract included the following works; 

• Traffic Management including side track construction;
• Earthworks;
• Bridge Construction including bored piles and precast deck units;
• Drainage works;
• Pavement and Road Furniture;
• Asphalt and Bitumen Seal; 
• Minor Landscaping.

Key Project Outcomes

This project has increased the flood immunity of all bridges, improved motorist and pedestrian safety and reduced maintenance costs to the Council.
