Project Overview

The Karrabin – Rosewood Road project involved an Asphalt overlay and widening including the pavement rehabilitation and widening of approximately 3.3km’s along the main thoroughfare between Ipswich and Rosewood.  The entire project was completed under live traffic.

Project Characteristics

  • All works were required to be completed without detours or road closures, so detailed traffic management staging was required to ensure continuity of work as well as vehicle access and minimal disruption to traffic flows.
  • 44716m2 of seal
  • 7970 tonne of asphalt including extensive road correction using Paveset data
  • Contractor innovation and recommendation of an alternative seal design enabled the project to be completed ahead of time and under budget.

Key Project Outcomes

  • Our “best for project” approach to this contract enabled us to successfully deliver this project ahead of schedule and under budget.
