Project Overview

QBC have been engaged by the Department of Transport and Main Roads to perform in-situ stabilisation, pavement repairs, bitumen sealing, road shoulder reinstatement, cleaning out of table drains and numerous other tasks through-out the Warwick and Goondiwindi Council areas to assist in network rectification as a result of the flooding that occurred on Australia Day 2013.

Project Characteristics

  • Rapid resource mobilisation was required due to the small window of time available to the Department to complete the works under the Emergent Works arrangements.
  • 6km of in-situ stabilisation.
  • 1.2km of pavement repairs.
  • 400m of shoulder repair due to scour.
  • Approximately 60,000L of bitumen seal.
  • Pavement marking.
  • Culvert Repair.
  • Other miscellaneous operations.

Project Outcomes

To successfully deliver as much high priority works on the network as possible to ensure safe and trafficable roads to the local community.
