Project Overview

This portion of the V1 Veloway Bikeway Project is for a bridge over Juliette Street and a section of bikeway from Cornwall Street to O'Keefe Street.

Project Characteristics

This contract includes;

• Earthworks;
• Drainage;
• Cast in-situ bored piles to the bridge substructure;
• Concrete substructure construction;
• Manufacturing and Erection of structural steel truss bridge;
• Construction of a concrete cast in-situ deck;
• Manufacture and placement of bridge balustrade and complete bridge caging;
• Guardrail and fencing;
• 1,300m2 of new concrete bikeway;
• Construction of block masonary, concrete and stone pitched retaining walls;
• Soil nailing and concrete shotcreting;
• Concrete traffic barrier works.

Key Project Outcomes

The V1, once completed, will run from Brisbane City to the Gateway Motorway off-ramp at Eight Mile Plains. The 17km connection will successfully provide the missing links within existing cycleway network and ensure a safe and dedicated commute for cyclists. The Veloway will also help promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
