Project Overview

In February 2022, major flooding within the Ipswich area caused extensive damage along the Riverlink precinct and beneath the Bradfield Bridge. This project involves the remediation of the affected riverbanks and associated infrastructure to restore stability, functionality, and resilience against future flood events.

Project Characteristics 

This contract includes;

  • Site establishment and access construction to the site of the damage.
  • Demolition and removal of existing damaged infrastructure, including any equipment, damaged pathways, and other structures.
  • Disposal of any debris and waste materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Earthworks cut and fill operations to achieve the design contours, slopes, and drainage patterns.
  • Supply, deployment and removal of erosion control devices during construction.
  • Stabilisation works along the riverbank including,
    • Construction of bored piles,
    • Supply & installation of Texcel 1200R or equivalent geotextile,
    • Supply & installation of Reno Mattresses,
    • Supply & installation of Rockfill/Rock Revetment,
    • Supply & Install soil nails,
    • Supply & install horizontal drainage lines.
  • Re-establishing landscaping to affected zone.
  • Make good and / or replace any areas or infrastructure impacted by the project works.

Key Project Outcomes

The project will repair riverbank damage and reinstate the functionality, stability, and public amenity that existed within this zone prior to the 2022 flood event.
