Project Overview
A new pedestrian bridge at Toogoolawah will reflect elements of the town's history and provide an important link between the CBD and nearby amenities. References to the town's former Nestle Condensery Milk Factory, located nearby, will be embraced in the bridge design. The bridge will be built slightly upstream from the current bridge which runs adjacent to the Brisbane Valley Highway on the southern approach to Toogoolawah.
Project Characteristics
The project will involve the construction of a new 54m span concrete bridge complete with;
- Cast in-situ concrete piles;
- Concrete Abutment, Pier Headstock and Column construction;
- Supply and erection of Precast Concrete Deck Units;
- Construction of a cast in-situ deck slab;
- Supply and erection of special pedestrian barrier;
- Rock Batter Protection;
- Miscellaneous Works.
Key Project Outcomes
The bridge will cater for pedestrians, cyclists and horses.
Construction of the Toogoolawah Pedestrian Bridge has been made possible with funding from the state and federal governments and Somerset Regional Council.
