Project Overview
As a result of the Australia Day 2013 Flood Event several bridges were damaged within the Somerset Regional Council boundaries. The project is for the replacement of the existing Gerald Ryan Bridge with a new concrete bridge. The new bridge will be on the same alignment and at the same level as the old bridge.
Project Characteristics
The project will involve the construction of a 1 x 25m span concrete bridge complete with;
- Construction of a side track;
- Demolition and Removal of the existing timber bridge;
- Bridge Site Preparation;
- Cast in-situ concrete piles;
- Concrete Abutment construction;
- Supply and erection of Precast Concrete Deck Units;
- Construction of a cast in-situ concrete deck and kerbs;
- Supply and erection of bridge balustrade;
- Minor approach earthworks and approach works.
Key Project Outcomes
To repair flood damaged infrastructure and return permanent access to properties for local residents.
