Project Overview
As a result of the major storm events through-out South East Queensland during and since January 2011, significant damage was incurred to a crib retaining wall on Wardell Street at Enoggera. The Department of Transport and Main Roads has awarded the remediation works to QBC under the Transport Network Reconstruction Program (TNRP).
Project Characteristics
- Provision for Traffic;
- Excavation of the Crib Wall face;
- Replacement of excavated material with no fines concrete;
- V Drain construction;
- Drilling and installation of passive rock bolts and intermediate dowels;
- Installation of retaining wall drainage;
- Shotcreting the crib wall face; and
- Anti-Graffiti treatment to the concreted face.
Key Project Outcomes
- Deliver a quality product as part of the long term remediation;
- Minimise the effect of construction practices on the travelling public through the site;
- Work collaboratively with Client and Community to ensure longevity of this item of infrastructure.
