Project Overview
The project involved the construction of an intersection upgrade and highway shoulder widening, guardrail, minor drainage, intersection lighting, clear zone clearing and bitumen sealing to approximately 6km of the Bruce Highway near Calliope.
Project Characteristics
Construction activities on the National Highway network to be constructed under traffic.
- 3,956m2 of seal.
- Significant safety improvements to intersection with street lighting and turning lane construction.
- Over 1km of guardrail installation.
- Interaction with local community and stake holders to ensure minimal disruption during construction phase.
- 1km of Insitu pavement stabilisation
- Managment of large volume of traffic including heavy vehicles through work sites.
Key Project Outcomes
Improved road pavement, intersection and street lighting along the Bruce Highway for the safety of private and heavy industry traffic in the Calliope district.
The project required efficient traffic management practices due to significant daily production rates were achieved and that the Bruce Highway is made safe at that the completion of each day’s work.
