Project Overview
As a result of the major storm events throughout South East Queensland during and since January 2011, significant damage was incurred to the State's transport network. The Department of Transport and Main Roads has awarded the realignment of a section of Oakey Cooyar Road to QBC under the Transport Network Reconstruction Program (TNRP).
Project Characteristics
This project is over a 400m section of Oakey - Cooyar Road.
The project includes;
- Provision for Traffic;
- Major Earthworks;
- Cultural Heritage Monitoring;
- Service Relocations;
- Unbound granular pavement overlays;
- In-situ stabilisation;
- Bitumen primer seal and seal;
- Drainage;
- Road furniture.
Key Project Outcomes
Improved road pavement alignment along this section of Oakey - Cooyar Road which will improve motorist safety, increase pavement life and resistance to future flood damage.
