Project Overview
This project involved the replacement of the two existing bridges on Mackay-Slade Point Road (Harbour Road) with new bridges and approaches. This project has increased both the bridge load capacities to facilitate the Port of Mackay and flood/storm surge immunity.

Key Project Outcomes
The replacement bridges have been designed with an increased mass limit to better accommodate heavy vehicles transporting commodities such as fuel, sugar, mining equipment and grain to and from the Port of Mackay. The project has improved the connectivity and efficiency of Mackay's transport corridors and support the growth of industry in the region.
